How can I cool my room down without AC?

Now some of us are fortunate to have air conditioning in our homes/flats, however we all know how expensive it can cost to keep it on the whole day and during the night. I’ll note some tips on you can cool your room down without an AC.

  1. Close those blinds and curtains – By closing these blinds, it allows for the sun rays to be blocked a lot more, reducing those powerful sun rays coming through your window heating up your room.
  2. Wet your feet and wrists with cold water – Our feet control our body temperature, so keeping those feet cooler will automatically reduce your body temperature.
  3. Stay hydrated – A cold glass of water, will help you feel cooler, but in fact, it is shown that the body doesn’t necessarily need cold water to cool itself down, it just needs enough water to help function and cannot without moisture.

Where should a fan be to cool a room?

Fan placement matters. Yes a fan in a room where you are, will make you feel cooler but placing the fan opposite to where you will be sitting or staying in that part of the room will make the fan more effective. Fan’s don’t actually make the room cooler, they just make yourself feel cooler.

Does putting a wet towel over a fan make it cooler?

Placing a cold wet towel over a fan or window (as long as there is a breeze) will allow the breeze to be a lot cooler. Placing a bowl of ice in front of your fan will also help you get the cooler breeze. Some fans are able to blow out cold air, ‘ The NewAir AF-310 Portable Fan’. It uses water to cool down the air that passes through it. This might be a good thing to invest in, but otherwise, the cheaper version is to use the cold water method or the bowl of ice!

What Fans use water to cool?

Here I have listed some Fans that use water to blow out cold air from Amazon.

This portable Tabletop air cooler has three different speed settings and vertical flow control, allowing you to direct the breeze to which direction you choose. It comes with two 300ml water tanks that you fill up with water, and it will generate the cold cool breeze you desire. It comes with a portable USB port, so it can be used on the go wherever (at home, in your office or at work).

Homitt Portable Mini Air Cooler

Again, here is another portable mini air cooler. A 4-in-1 mini air conditioner. with a 500ml water tank. It comes with washable and reusable filters, that are easy to take out and place back in. It comes with a USB power supply, and the fan runs very quiet, making it less noticeable. The small portable size is handy for use on the go or even just to place on your desk, making sure it doesn’t take up too much room like some others do!

Is it good to sleep under a fan?

We all know, despite it being cold outside during those winter months our bodies produce body heat. Having a fan allows for the body to reduce the body temperature and therefore preventing the body from overheating. The cool breeze will help dry any excess moisture that your body produces.
